Dr Leon Cohen
Dr Leon Cohen established Mercy Bariatrics in 2004 in Perth , Western Australia. He has been performing bariatric surgery for the last five years and has extensive experience in both laparoscopic banding and open bypass surgery. His other surgical interest are in gastrointestinal surgery and endoscopy.
Outside of medicine his passions are jazz music (he plays Tenor saxophone and is learning the drums), and bushwalking in the Stirling Ranges.
He is married with two sons.

Dr David Borshoff -Bariatric Anaesthetist
Dr David Borshoff is a consultant anaesthetist with a specialty interest in Cardiac anaesthesia ( he is on the heart transplant team at RPH ) and bariatric anaesthesia. He has an amazing knack for getting epidurals in to even the hardest patients back.
David has a fine baritone voice and is a lover of music. Ask him to sing for you!

Dr Graeme Johnstone - Bariatric Anaesthetist
Graeme is New Zealand Born and completed his Anaesthetic training in Australia. He mainly works with Lap Band patients on Thursday afternoon. He has a quiet calming manner which patients find quite soporific. Watch out, you will be asleep before the first drugs hit you!
Outside of Medicine his interest are Wine collecting ( he has a cellar to die for) Sailing and bushwalking.

Dr Neil Hewett - Surgical Assistant
Dr Neil Hewett has been assisting Dr Cohen in theatre for the last four years. He has an almost telepathic ability to predict the next surgical move!
Always cheerful and enthusiastic, even when called from home in the middle of the night to assist with an emergency case.
Neil is besotted by his two young sons ,despite quite a few sleepless nights recently. He is quiet a respectable
musician on lead and rhythm guitar. Watch out for him playing at the end of year Bariatrics cocktail party!
