I had tried many weight loss programs, including Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Sure Slim, Easy Slim, the list goes on. Don’t get me wrong, they all worked to some degree in the short term, but as soon as I stopped them my weight would sky rocket, and before too long, I would be back at my old weight and more. I continued this ‘battle of the bulge’ for many years, at first it was out of vanity, but by the time I reached 40, my concerns about my weight became a lot more serious. I was no longer as concerned about how I looked, but became more worried about my health.
Ill never forget, this one time, I had a meeting that I had go to in the city that I had to walk to. I was so concerned about having to walk to this meeting; I ended up driving around trying to find the closest car park so that I could avoid walking too far. This really upset me; I felt desperate, I really needed to do something.
A few days later, I saw a success story about Dr Cohen and Bariatrics on TV and thought to myself, ‘why on earth didn’t I do this earlier’. The next day I went to my GP and organized a referral to see Dr Cohen at Mercy Bariatrics. Dr Cohen welcomed me to his office, sat me down and told me all of the facts about Bariatric Surgery. I wanted to get it done as soon as I could but Dr Cohen calmly told me to go away for a while, think about it, and then come back and we will have another discussion.
After the surgery, as expected it was a bit painful for a few days, but after a week and a half, I felt normal again. I followed the guidelines outlined by the Mercy Bariatric health professional team, and before long, I started seeing weight just dropping off. It has continued to drop off ever since the surgery and I feel absolutely sensational. This has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. Sure, there have been a couple of foods I haven’t tolerated well such as white bread and red meat, but really, nothing tastes as sweet as being thin and healthy. I am the happiest I’ve been in many years and as a single girl, it has given me the added confidence to start dating again. Thank you so much Dr Cohen for ‘saving my life’.
